What are we about?

Our goal is to teach the children 'God's Story’ through stories, drama, puppet plays, music crafts, and bible memory. Overall, we desire to lead our children to love and serve Jesus Christ.’  We have a dedicated staff of volunteers who offer a safe environment where the children feel loved and cared for.

Sunday morning schedule

  • We provide a well-equipped nursery for newborns to children aged 2 that is available throughout the service.
  • Junior church for children ages 2-5 runs from approx. 10:10 -11:30 each Sunday. On long weekends and holidays, junior church is over directly after the church service (approx. 10:40).

  • Children from grades 1-4 are also dismissed from the church service at 10:10. The first part of their program takes place in 'Basecamp' where all the children meet together to hear the story, sing songs, and learn their bible memory. At 10:35 the children then proceed to their individual grade class which we call 'Viewpoints'. Here the children meet with their grade leaders. The story is reinforced and they have other activities.
  • Children in grades 5 & 6 stay in the church service until the end (approx. 10:35) and then proceed to their Viewpoint' which ends at 11:30.*

Sardis DoorWay is a registered, non-profit charitable organization, serving single mothers and their preschool children in the Chilliwack area since 1987.

We offer physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual support through workshops, education, friendship and Bible discussions.  There is licensed child-minding for children aged 18 months to 5 years of age.  There is also nursery care for infants to age 18 months.

“Whoever welcomes this child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me; for the least among all of you is the greatest.” Luke 9:48

Sardis DoorWay is a great place for children to learn! Every Wednesday morning, 47 children (3 months to 5 years) come with their Mothers ready to sing songs, play play-dough, sing & dance, read stories, make wonderful crafts and eat a delicious snack and lunch.

Each week 19 willing volunteers take 3 hours out of their busy lives to serve the families that participate in our program. There is a lot of learning to be done when you’re a preschooler, and DoorWay is a part of that learning! We have great crafts, a wonderful dress-up room and a cozy quilt to sit on for story time.
